about steve cohen

Founder and CEO, Steve Cohen began his career in 1996 with a Chicago-based startup Rep Firm serving the telecommunications and power utility markets. Starting in administration and customer service, he quickly transitioned into sales, where he grew a multi-state territory through a unique approach: building direct relationships with end users, network owners, and contractors.

Over time, Steve became a recognized subject matter expert in underground utility locating and secondary fault finding, which expanded his expertise into fiber optic and power cable placement. His leadership and results driven work ethic led to his promotion as Vice President of Sales, where he managed 13 Territory Managers across 11 states.

Seeking new opportunities, Steve relocated to the West and partnered with contractors and manufacturers who aligned with his market-driven approach. His entrepreneurial vision ultimately led to the creation of Western Infrastructure Group. With a focus on meaningful growth rather than incremental gains, WIG champions underrepresented manufacturers and delivers results through a hands-on, high-impact sales strategy.
